Rep. Huizenga announces grant for Sparta manufacturing expansion
RELEASE|November 1, 2021

State Rep. Mark Huizenga today announced tesa Plant Sparta will receive a state grant to support a new project.

The Michigan Strategic Fund approved a grant that could provide as much as $450,000 to the specialized tape manufacturer as it develops a multimillion-dollar expansion project. The company expects to hire at least 25 additional employees to operate the expanded facility.

“As tesa expands its Sparta location, it will support our local economy and create excellent jobs right here in our community,” said Huizenga, of Walker. “For good reason, Kent County consistently attracts creative business ventures like tesa’s expansion. The new grant for the project will enable economic growth in West Michigan.” Tesa is an international company that produces adhesive tapes for a variety of industries. Its plant in Sparta first opened for production in 1982.
