State Rep. Phil Green today was appointed to serve as vice chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services.

The second-term lawmaker said he looks forward to serving the people of Michigan in this new role.

“I am honored to be given this opportunity to evaluate and prioritize state funding for our state’s health care needs,” Green said. “Both mental and physical health is important to our community. Working to meet their needs has been a high priority during my time in office. I intend to utilize that knowledge and experience as I work to meet those same needs for the entire state. I look forward to learning more from those who testify before the committee this year.”

Green dedicated himself to preserving funding for the Caro Center, the largest employer in Tuscola County, in 2019.

Green also was selected to serve on the Higher Education and Community Colleges Appropriations Subcommittee and the Judiciary Appropriations Subcommittee. He will also be a member of the House Education Committee.
